Social Media is easy, right? A little tinkering around on Facebook and Twitter and you’ll get hoards of followers. Not quite.

The next major thing to take care of is the content. You’ve probably see the term banded around that “Content is King”. This is very true, you have only a few seconds to grab the viewers attention. So, how do you do that? What do you say?

- Ask a Question. People love to give their opinions, so ask for them! Plus, if you make it industry related, you are learning more about your potential customers, whilst increasing engagement. A complete win win situation! It always encourages more responses if you add a nice graphic and make it multiple choice.
- Run a Competition with a Prize. Who doesn’t want to win a Prize? There are various ways to facilitate a competition, it could be liking the page or answering a question, but make sure you read up on Facebook’s rules before publishing anything. Also, you’ll need to offer up something of value. This could be a Voucher or something free from your business, dependant on what you do, but nobody will enter if they’re only going to get a Pen!
- Talk about current Events. Current affairs always strike a chord with a hefty chunk of people on social media. If you ask a question about current events, you’ll certainly create some good engagement. For example, asking who will get most votes when it’s election time.
